Peer Review Process

MANFISH Journal implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the scientific quality and integrity of published articles. Each submitted manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field of marine and fisheries sciences.

1. Initial Screening

The Editorial Team conducts an initial assessment of each manuscript to verify its conformity with the journal’s focus and scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements will be returned to the authors before peer review.

2. Double-Blind Review

During the peer review process, both reviewers and authors remain anonymous. Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript’s originality, scientific quality, clarity, methodology, and contribution to the field.

3. Reviewer Recommendation

Reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revision
  • Resubmit after major revision
  • Reject (not suitable for publication)

4. Revision and Resubmission

Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to reviewers’ suggestions and resubmit it through the OJS system. The revised version may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers or by the editorial team.

5. Final Decision

The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of the revisions submitted by the authors.

6. Review Timeline

The review process typically takes 4–8 weeks depending on the availability and response time of reviewers.

The editorial board ensures that all manuscripts are processed fairly, confidentially, and without discrimination based on the author’s nationality, gender, or institutional affiliation.
